She pursued her interest by studying plastic arts at Sainte-Foy College and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts from Laval University in 1985, followed by further training in graphic arts. Throughout her three and a half-decade career, Sophie has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Canada and the United States, gaining recognition for her energetic floral compositions that reflect her love of color.
Sophie’s artistic journey has been inspired by her family; her father was an architectural decorator whose large-scale works, including a grand angel for their church, ignited her fascination with art and color. Influential encounters with notable artists, such as Claude Theberge, shaped her confidence and reinforced her commitment to her craft. Today, her studio is a vibrant space where she balances family life with her creative process. A self-described “color addict,” Sophie primarily works with acrylics and oil pastels, creating dynamic floral artworks characterized by strong movement and vibrant color contrasts.
