Maria Antoniv’s artistic journey began in her childhood, where her passion for creativity laid the foundation for a life dedicated to art. Fueled by an innate desire to draw and paint, she pursued formal education in the Fine Arts, enrolling at the prestigious Fine Arts College. This path not only nurtured her talent but also led her to further her studies in Fine Arts and Graphic Design at Carpathian National University in Ukraine. Throughout her education, Maria developed crucial skills in various mediums such as sculpture, watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting, creating a rich and diverse set of techniques that became the hallmark of her unique style.

Through decades of committed practice, Maria has found a deep connection between her studio practice and her profound encounters with the outdoors, with each experience uniquely enhancing the other. The challenges she faces within her peaceful studio resonate with the dynamic energy of the natural world, fueling her unquenchable love for painting. This love has not only deepened her connection to still life and breathtaking landscapes, but has also inspired her to explore the complexities of the human form through striking figurative and portrait works. In every brushstroke, Maria captures the delicate interplay between the natural world and the intimate journey of self-expression, inviting viewers to experience a rich tapestry of emotion and beauty.

Maria’s exceptional artistic abilities have gained her recognition that extends far beyond Canada’s borders, attracting attention in distant locations such as Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Switzerland, Slovakia, Italy, the United States, and Ukraine. Maria’s work has attracted attention in a variety of art publications, solidifying her reputation in the artistic community. As a dedicated member of prestigious organizations such as the Women’s Art Association of Canada (WAAC) and the Ukrainian Association of Visual Artists of Canada (USOM), she actively cultivates her artistic network. Maria also plays a vital role in the Toronto West Arts Collaborative (WAC), the Associates of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolors (CSPWC), and the Bromley Art Society (BAS) in the United Kingdom, while proudly holding the title of Supporting Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA).
