Take Brushes & Balance beyond the canvas with award-winning glass artist Layne Verbeek for a fun, hands-on evening exploring the creative possibilities of fused glass.

Layne will begin with an introduction to glass and its fascinating properties, followed by a demonstration of how to safely cut and design your own 8″ suncatcher. Choose from more than two dozen colours of flat glass, along with a variety of unique glass elements created in Layne’s studio, including frit, stringers, pulled glass, and cabochons.

Design your own one-of-a-kind piece while exploring colour, texture, shape, and light.

 What to Expect:

Create your own 8″ abstract fused-glass suncatcher

Layne will take your finished piece with him after the class for kiln-firing
Completed suncatchers will be returned to the gallery within two weeks for pickup
Your piece will be fired at the glass studio and ready for you to pick up at our gallery about a week later
